Egremni Beach is opening again after earthquake, with new stairs!
According to the local authorities, Egremni beach is set to open again for the public after the catastrophic consequences since the 2015 earthquake.
Egremni beach is located at a distance of about 30 km from Lefkada. With a length of up to two kilometers, fine white pebbles, turquoise waters, impressive slopes that surround it and several steps that you must descend to visit it, and to explore it. The beach is undoubtedly among the most beautiful Greek beaches.
It owes its name to the huge rocks that look like they hang over the beach. It is good to make sure we have an umbrella, hats, sunscreen, water and fruit with us, to have a good time.
The incomparable beauty of Egremni beach in Lefkada made it one of the most beautiful and well-publicized landscapes in the world.
The water that surrounds the beach is clear, turquoise and offers one of the best conditions for swimming in Europe.
Egremni beach is also one of the largest beaches in Lefkada, with a length of over 2.5 km.
Anyone looking for peace and relaxation in a picturesque environment will probably be amazed by this beautiful area of Lefkada!
The beach from 2021 now has access on foot and from the sea!
The most possible time to open Egremni beach is during this summer season 2021, as the works taking place to restore the stairs and the footpath are done.
A stable iron construction has now replaced the old stairs, with the same number of steps, as previously.
Also the a new road has been constructed over the last 2km with only a small final part to the upper kiosk still remaining to be accomplished.
Of course these are some brilliant news for all tourists visiting Lefkada this year!
Egremni beach is one of the best beaches of Greece and the Mediterranean, it is a multi-awarded and prominent beach of Lefkada, with a huge audience that comes each year only to visit here, and swim at the amazing waters of the beach.
Personally I am a great fan ever since I first visited Egremni beach at the age of 6 years old with my parents and family friends.
Since then, and now because of the boat tours that we run, I visit Egremni every year and I feel privileged to swim those magic blue waters.
The place is a real charm, it is wild, remote, with thick vegetation on the footpath, bright white cliffs and also different shades of blue waters that will blow your eyes.
Because of its remote location and also the big number of the stairs (almost 300) many visitors of Lefkada, those visiting with families in particular, usually they do not chose the beach of Egremni.
As a consequence, there is more space for the fanatic audience of the beach. Anyway the island of Lefkada has so many amazing beaches to visit like Porto Katsiki, Aigialos, Kalamitsi, Kathisma, etc with much easier access.
It is unbelievable that you have the chance to explore this beach during your holidays in Lefkada and to discover the wild beauty of Egremni beach either on foot, or by boat.
