Kathisma Beach what is it? and some facts to know

Kathisma is one of the fantastic and the most popular tourist beaches on Lefkada's west coast. Kathisma has extreme blue waters.

It is situated halfway down the West Coast at 15km away from the capital city Lefkas and 3,5km from Agios Nikitas. 

Kathisma beach is surrounded by thick green vegetation till the sea level and you can find many facilities, like rooms to rent bars, restaurants, and activities like paragliding. 

You can also find hotels near Kathisma Beach.

Form the favorite spot of campers and nudists in the 80's, Kathisma beach has been transformed in is today's most cosmopolitan beach in Lefkada.

Kathisma beach itself is sandy small little pebbles and it is the busiest and the most organized beach of Lefkada, yet most popular and famous.

Kathisma is s a long beach of almost 4km with great sunset views and amazing waves when it gets windy!

Enjoy the sunset here with your company having dinner, a drink, or a cocktail.

Due to the big length of the beach, there are also isolated areas for those who want to avoid big crowds.

 

 

 

Kathisma beach is also located very close to Agios Nikitas village, only 4 km away, so visiting here can be also combined with some lunch dinner or just to walk around the area.

Agios Nikitas is really cosmopolitan during the summer months, with a big pedestrian with cultural and souvenir stores, mini markets and fish restaurants.  

You can also find here plenty of rooms and hotels to rent in Agios Nikitas beach, with some of them being in remote areas on the hill, with an extremely nice view off to Milos beach!

From Agios Nikitas village you will find the hiking path to Milos beach, or the sea taxi to get you there. 

 

 

 

 

Because Kathisma beach is overlooking the open Ionian Sea on the west, the see can get rough and wavy, according to the weather.

 

 

 

 

For a better experience with the parking, avoid visiting Kathisma beach on weekends, or 12.00-15:00 PM on a daily basis. Especially during the high season.
